YEREVAN (CoinChapter.com) — A fake Curve Finance app has infiltrated the Apple app store. It is currently ranking among the top 100 finance apps worldwide. Known as Curve defi v3, the fraudulent app claims to provide services associated with the DeFi platform Curve Finance. However, multiple user warnings label it as a scam. Despite these alerts, the app has gained significant popularity in regions such as Europe, Latin America, the United States, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia, where users are at risk of falling for its deceptive tactics.

However, reviewers have given it consistently low ratings, with nearly all marking it as a one-star and frequently describing it as a “scam” or a “hacker tool.” The app’s description on the store reads: “Curve defi v3 is an amazing app. Arrange the blocks to make a perfect row and clear it!” This unusual wording has raised doubts, though it has not deterred some unsuspecting users from downloading it.
Social Media Alerts Warn Users About Fake App
This incident quickly caught the attention of the crypto and DeFi communities, who took to social media to raise awareness. A social media alert was posted by a fintech engineer and app store scam identifier named Babu. Babu highlighted the fake Curve Finance app in a post on X . In his post, he tagged the official Curve Finance account and warned, “Stay vigilant and report suspicious apps!” Many users responded by sharing similar concerns. They advised others to report the app and avoid downloading it.
Currently, the community urges users to exercise caution with the app while it remains available on the Apple app store. Warnings circulating on social platforms encourage users to report the app to Apple to help prevent further exploitation.
Repeat Offense: Previous Curve Finance Scam on Apple Store
Notably, this incident mirrors an earlier case from Feb. 14, when Curve Finance warned its community about a similar impersonation scam. At that time, the fake Curve Finance app was listed on the app store under the name “MK Technology.” The app description presented itself as a “powerful app” for managing borrowers and loans, earning a rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars across nine reviews. Above all, Curve Finance’s statement read, “Beware of scams; there is no DeFi Curve App on the app store.”
