Over Protocol has announced the full details of its airdrop allocation through which the platform will reward those who participated in the Over Community Access Program (OCAP). Initially launched in June of last year, OCAP aims to build community support and test OverProtocol’s distributed ledger system. So far, nearly 5.8 million participants worldwide have joined.
Over Protocol Airdrop Program Structure and Distribution
The Over Protocol airdrop will distribute 54 million OVER tokens (5.45% of the total supply), out of a total 15% allocation for OCAP. The remaining OCAP tokens will support marketing, liquidity, grants, and ecosystem growth initiatives. Participants will receive tokens based on three criteria: honesty, diligence, and performance scores.
To ensure fairness, Over Protocol conducted a two-step Sybil detection process to eliminate bot accounts. Genuine contributors who did not pass Sybil detection will get a second chance through Google Forms. Token amounts were then assigned based on OverWallet missions and testnet engagement, with distribution set to begin after OverProtocol’s mainnet launch, anticipated between late this year and early next year.
Who Will Get Tokens?
Over Protocol has set up some specific criteria to make sure only genuine contributors get tokens. To achieve this, they introduced “Sybil detection,” a system to prevent bots and multiple accounts from unfairly claiming tokens. Here’s a breakdown of airdrop allocation:
OverWallet Users – Those who completed Sybil detection and actively participated in OverWallet activities will receive tokens based on their performance. OverNode Operators – Individuals who ran OverNodes (network nodes that support the blockchain) during testing phases will get a share. Nethers NFT Holders – Each Nethers NFT holder will receive 764.64 tokens. NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, are digital assets unique to each owner. OKX Cryptopedia Participants – Users who completed tasks in OKX’s educational program will receive Over Protocol tokens. HashKey Participants – Those who passed Sybil detection on HashKey Global will receive tokens. Gate.io and BingX Pools – A small allocation will go to participants from Gate.io and BingX, based on specific criteria. You May Also Like: Scroll Airdrop Claim: Distribution of SCR Tokens to Community and Ecosystem Contributors
Airdrop Verification and Claims Process
Notably, eligible participants can review their allocations in the OverFlex app by updating OverWallet, entering their registered email, and following confirmation instructions. All distribution will be available upon mainnet launch. Above all, Over Protocol warns users against phishing attempts, as official airdrop claims will not be sent via email or social media.
